Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't updated in such a long time. However, the almost one year old little boy is SOOOO busy!! He keeps me on my toes all the time! So, lets see what all has been going on (you might want to grab a snack or something!)...
Virginia - Our trip to VA was great! It was great
to get to see our friends and just get to hang out and relax. Thomas did great! He missed lots of naps and yet was such a happy little boy. We were able to stay with our good friends the Tostens (my adoptive college parents!). We were able to spend time with Brandy and her family. I can't believe how big her boys are (but then again, I am sure she feels the same way about mine!). Then we got to spend some time with Emily and Eric and we were able to meet Miss Morgan (finally). Oh she is just
the cutest little (and I do mean little) thing. She is so petite...Thomas looks like a giant next to her! Thomas and I were also able to spend time with one of my friends from when I worked at CHKD. We went shopping up in Williamsburg so I could get Thomas some cute clothes! It was a blast. And last, but certainly not least, we were able to spend time with Bill and Mary (Popsi and Gamma Mary). We were so excited to see them. Mary
even made homemade chocolate chip cookies for us like she does when her own kids come to visit! I sure felt special. We were able to go to FBC Norfolk on Sunday and go to our old class and then to lunch with Ben and Katie. We also got to spend the afternoon at Ben and Katie's house. It was fun, fun, fun! So, it was a great trip. What a blessing everyone there was to us..feeding us, giving us a place to stay and/or just hang out! It was great and I can't go back again!! Hopefully next time Brian will be able to go too!!Back in Texas...Things are pretty much the same old same old! Thomas is of course growing like a weed....a weed out of control. For those interested, at his last weigh in, he weighed about 25 1/2 pounds and was about 32 inches long. He mostly wears 18 and 24 month clothes. I can't believe how tall he is. We just had an outfit made for him and the woman making it said that he was a 2T from shoulder to crotch and an 18 mo in the inseam. Crazy...no wonder it is so hard to find one piece outfits for my munchkin! He is a pretty smart little guy! He can say lots of words and understands even more of what we say. If you ask him where he left his paci, he will crawl to it and get it for you (most of the time). He is starting to walk...he will take a few steps sometimes, but for the most part, he chooses to crawl. He is just so darn fast when he crawls, I don't think he wants to be slowed down any by learning to walk! However, being over 25 pounds, there are days I wish he would!!

We have mostly been healthy. Thomas just got over a nasty cold that put us back on breathing treatments 3 times a day. However, now he is well, and pretty much back to his one treatment a day (to ward off RSV!). He had another ear infection with the cold (durprise, surprise!). He seems to be over that now too. Brian had a little bug the other weekend and I had one during the week this week. However, we all seem to be well now and (knock on wood) we are really hoping to stay that way!
Brian's job is going ok. They got a new cheif in the office. He runs things differently from NC1 (who was in charge before). Brian is out late alot of nights right now. It is hard on him b/c he isn't getting to see Thomas as much. However, Thomas seems to understand this and want to see his daddy, so he has been taking an afternoon nap a little later in the afternoon and staying up till closer to 9 instead of 8. I don't guess I care too much b/c Brian isn't getting home till 8 or 8:30 so at least he gets to see Thomas before bed! I am ready for Brian to have a day off and be able to spend time with him and Thomas!
What else....Thomas' first birthday is this coming week. I can't believe my baby is already a year
old! We are having a "Duck, Duck" party of course! We have more rubber ducks than you can imagine. And, as of yesterday, we added 3 live baby ducks to our family! They are cute and of course all Thomas says is "duck, duck"! They will be cute for the party, but then they will be going to live with a friend of ours! (And although we enjoy them right now, we will be happy to give them away too!) I am excited about his party. It should be a fun time with family and friends.

I hope so. I guess I will add some pics now. I hope all are well and that I didn't bore too much. I will try to start doing better at posting! Have a great Saturday!!!

Glad to hear y'all are doing pretty well. Tell the birthday boy we're thinking of him and give him a hug for us!
