Thomas had tubes placed in both ears when he was 14 months old (after many many ear infections). When he was about 3-4, the tube in his left ear finally fell out. However, the right one just continued to stay in place...it wasn't budging! Sooo.... Today at 8:45am Thomas is having a procedure to remove the tube in his right ear and patch the hole it will leave. They will be using a fat graft to patch the hole. This means a small incision behind his ear to obtain the fat and then patching his ear. We are told recovery will be quick and easy...just no swimming or contact sports for 6-8 weeks. However, it does require that he be under anesthesia again. Since Thomas has not had an ear infection in over a year now, praise God!, we are hopeful that this will be the end of our ear issues! Please pray today for Dr. Murray (our awesome ENT who will be performing the procedure), the anesthesiologist, the nurses, Thomas, and this mommy! Pray that God will guide the doctors in this routine procedure and for comfort and peace for Thomas and his mommy! Thanks so much and I will post when we are home!
