Surgery is over. Thomas did great! They started off by giving him some "silly juice" (Versed) because he was a little anxious about being separated from mommy. It didn't really make him silly, just very relaxed. He got a little upset when it was time to go back for the procedure, but the wonderful nurse talked to him about Tom and Jerry and he forgot all about it! 30 minutes later Dr. Murray was in the room telling us things went just as expected and that Thomas would be awake soon. Mom and I waited a few more minutes and the nurses were getting us bc Thomas was awake enough and was very upset. They said that it was normal to cry when coming out of anesthesia, but Thomas was inconsolable! He kept telling us that his ear was hurting, so they started off by giving him some Lortab. It didn't seem to help and this mommy couldn't handle the big alligator tears, so they ended up giving him a little Morphine too. After about 10-15 minutes, he calmed down and watched the movie. Not long after, the nurses were walking us to the car and we were headed to Dunkin Donuts. Thomas wanted a donut, so that's just what he got! When we got home, he ate his chocolate glazed donut and then laid down for a rest. I finally woke him up around 2pm so that he could eat some lunch. Now we are just sitting here having a relaxing afternoon. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers today! They really mean alot!
