Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Thomas, Papa, and Mommy at the game (not sure what Thomas is thinking about!)

Last Saturday my parents and I took Thomas to a baseball game. It was the Frisco RoughRiders vs the Texas Rangers. It was the last preseason game for this year. We had a blast! We got there early b/c we heard the RoughRiders would be signing autographs. We were wrong...the Rangers were signing autographs this game! So, we bought Thomas a RoughRiders sweatshirt and took him down to where all the players were signing. He got several signatures on his shirt. One of the coaches and one of the managers signed it, but several players. He also got a baseball. One of the pitchers was signing baseballs and then handing them out to the kids. However, the coolest part was when Gerald Laird, a catcher for the Rangers, walked over to Thomas and handed him the baseball he has been using. He then signed the baseball for Thomas and his sweatshirt. He talked to Thomas and everything! It was so neat! Now Thomas is confused as to why he can't play with the baseball! Thomas did great at the game. He ate a whole hot dog (and part of my and Gram's pizza) and just played in the stands! About the 6th inning, Thomas curled up in my lap and fell asleep, where he stayed until the end of the game (when they shot off fireworks we didn't know about!). It was such a fun day! I think we will have to do it again sometime this spring before it get too too hot!

Thanks for sharing your pictures with me. Thomas is such a big boy now, and I miss seeing him. I have been really busy helping Kellie and Rodney get their home ready for my Mom's 90th Birthday celebration on the 20th. We are almost there, but still more to do. If you get to WP come to see me.

Love,
Nana Carolyn
