Sunday, July 1

I do think that New Hope house church may just be my new favorite place to worship.  On the rooftop in the setting sun singing songs that I have no clue what they mean other than to praise our Lord.  On the rooftop under the stars only understanding the part of the sermon Rudra (or Andy) translate.  Sharing the Lord's supper with my Indian brothers and sisters in Christ.  Can it get any better...I think not!

This morning we slept in and took it a little slow.  We spent time as a team reflecting on the past week and time in prayer together.  What a blessing to be here with this team!  I cannot explain what each of these people have come to mean to me!

We met in the afternoon at the BMS office and waited for Bill and Andy to order more medication for the rest of our clinics.  Then we headed to Flurries for a "Western" dinner.  The food and the pastries there were amazing!  While we waited for our food, I proceeded to rewrite my testimony to share that night during the service.

After dinner we returned to New Hope Church to participate in the children's Sunday school.  After the kids sang some songs for us, we sang Jesus Love the Little  Children and Aaj Kerray Din (This is the Day) for them.  Then Kevin told the Bible story of Jesus saying "Let the little children come unto me" (Matthew 19).  The children then broke into 3 classes for Bible study.  I once again started with the young children.  Once their class was finished, I went to listen to Santu finish teaching the older children.  While sitting there, several of the younger children brought Cheryl and I beautiful flowers.  (I love that children there like to pick flowers for adults too!)

Once SS was over, we had a time of fellowship (visiting and singing) with our new friends.  We were also able to present Mamata, Sombari, and Pompa for their help during the week at the school, the henna parties, and at the clinics.

Then it was time for worship.  Can I say again just how much I enjoyed worshiping there.  First we sang several praise and worship songs in Hindi, Bangla, and English.  Then it was time for me to share my testimony.  While I was sharing, 3 goats wandered up onto the roof!  After I shared my testimony, Rudra brought a message on the armour of God (Ephesians 6).  When he finished his sermon, he presented all the believers with the Lord's Supper.  It was a special time!  I look forward to being able to return to worship here!

After a few more pictures with friends, it was time to say goodnight and head back to BMS.  Up tomorrow, Sari Bari and Mother Teresa's!
