My Summer Travels

Back in the fall, a good friend of mine from Virginia posted on Facebook about a medical mission trip to India.  After some discussion and looking at dates, it was determined that I could not go at that time.  But, I was told not to give up hope, that there might be a trip in the summer.  Around Christmastime my friend called to tell me that he was leading a team to Calcutta, India in the summer.  I told him I would love to go, as long as the dates lined up with when Thomas would be with his dad.  The next time we talked, the tentative dates were given - the last week in June, first week in July.  And so, the calling to a medical mission to Calcutta, India started!  It has been an amazing trip to get ready to go with amazing team.  We have had meetings across two states and two continents.  And God's call has been ever evident in the process!  I am so excited and ready for this!  His provisions have been amazing...  He has brought in all but $400 dollars of fundraising ($1000 of that in the past week) and even provided a way to Virginia through a friend of mine at church!  WOW!!!  And so, I sit here in my friend's house in Virginia a week away from taking the trip of a lifetime to India to participate in a medical mission trip.  In addition to medical missions, we will be involved in teaching at a school, helping with a sewing ministry, and working with some house churches.  We will visit Mother Teresa's orphanage and tour some of the temples there also.  Its going to be amazing.  I am hoping to be able to post while I am there so you will be able to follow and know what is going on and how to pray.

Right now prayers for protection from the enemy, safe travels, and health are at the top of the list.  The names of my teammates are Bill, Mary, Kevin, Cheryl, Christy, Ellen, and Andy.  Please keep all of us in your prayers in the weeks to come.  We leave on July 21.  Thank you so much!
