Tuesday, June 26

*Slightly Edited*
This morning we decided to "take it easy".  We slept in, ate breakfast, and took our time getting ready to go.  I am more than glad we did as I woke up not feeling well.  A case of "Delhi belly" I'm sure since I ate a full plate of Bengali food on Sunday and ate traditional Indian food yesterday also.  After some fervent prayer from the team, and some medication, I was ok enough to go with the team for today's plans.

We started our day by meeting in the cafeteria of BMS for devotion and prayer time.  It was a great time of coming together for the team.  Then we were off to meet A. for lunch at a Chinese restaurant called Bar B Q...  um, ok!  :)  I didn't eat much... mostly rice and drank a sprite.  Then it was time to head back to the same village as yesterday for sewing class and then another clinic.  We arrived only a few minutes late and took the short walk through the village to the school.  Several of the women were already there waiting for our arrival for the sewing class.  When we arrived, Rudra and Mita had a special surprise waiting for Kevin and Cheryl.  In honor of their 30th wedding anniversary, the pastor and his wife had brought a cake.  After covering Cheryl's head as they would for a typical Indian wedding, we have "Happy Anniversary to you" and then Kevin and Cheryl cut the cake and fed some to each other.  What a very special anniversary for them!!

Then Mary and Christy got straight to work teaching the sewing class.  In the meantime, "Delhi belly" seemed to have hit Bill (the other nurse on the team) also.  Once again, with the amazing power of prayer (and a little modern medicine), Bill made a speedy recovery and was able to carry on with the day!  While we women worked with the sewing class, the men went on a prayer walk out in the village.  The women were more comfortable with us today and therefore they spoke more and laughed more.  They had a great time sewing their bags and working on their basket projects.  Some of the women were even so excited to be working on the basket project they didn't want to go sew bags!

Even Santu got involved and started making a basket for his mom!
Today the villagers knew that we were going to be doing a medical clinic in the evening and started lining up early.  We had to keep telling them "not yet".   At 4 pm, we said our goodbyes to the women and we began to set up for the medical clinic.  I saw 30 patient's this day.  I don't remember how many Bill saw!  I love being able to serve in this way!  Thankfully our friend Amy was able to return to help!  A. told me that PM was able to share the gospel with a few of the women waiting in line to be seen.  He said one of them even prayed the prayer of salvation.  Now we just have to wait to see if she recognized Jesus as another god (with a little "g") or as the one true God!  Oh I pray she does!

Once the clinic was over, we made our way to the vehicle and headed back to BMS for a dinner of Subway sandwiches (complete with delivery)!  I tell you a sandwich has never tasted so good!!  Then it was time for showers and bed.

Tomorrow - Teaching school in the morning, sewing in the afternoon, and our final clinic in this village in the evening.  It should be a fun and full day.
