Saturday

Saturday morning when I got up Bill had a message from American Airlines that they had my suitcase at baggage claim!  YAY!!!  Shortly after we celebrated that, we had a Skype meeting with Andy about the trip.  It was a great time of planning and getting ready.  Then I got ready for the day and headed up to Yorktown to spend the afternoon with the Tostens.  William and Karen Tosten were my adopted family when I was a freshman at Hardin-Simmons.  Even though they moved the summer after my freshman year, we managed to keep in touch while I finished up college.  After Germany, they were stationed in Virginia, so they lived here when we did.  Karen was at the hospital the day Thomas was born!  They are a great Christian couple who have raised 2 amazing daughters (my adopted sisters!).  It was a blessing to be able to spend the day with them.  While I was on my way to the Tostens house, Bill and Mary headed to the airport to get my luggage!  It was great knowing I finally had all my things back.  And just in time as I needed to start taking my anti-malarial medication that evening!  I got to the Tostens house to find that Karen had made a fresh homemade apple pie!  She used to make me apple pies for my birthday, instead of cake, when we lived here b/c they are so good!  She also grilled hamburgers and made homemade baked beans,   It was a great afternoon spent sitting outside on the deck, enjoying lunch and time talking.  It was great to catch them up on my life and for them to catch me up on theirs!

Eventually I left their house for the drive home.  When I got to the bridge/tunnel, traffic was at a standstill...as in the car was in park!!  I did have a great view of the navy ships while sitting, so I pulled out my camera and snapped this picture real fast.

When I got back, Bill and I took the bike to the storage shed and then walked over to meet Mary at a pizza place.  We had a supreme pizza (yay!!!).  Then we ran a few errands and headed back to the condo again.  I worked on my Bible story/testimony for a little bit and then we all headed to bed.
